Julien Schwab is a life-long addict of telling and hearing stories, in all their forms.

He’s a published playwright, a produced screenwriter, a self-made podcaster and, most recently, an accomplished producer of sports video.

In 2021, he was tapped to write the Salute to Women In Sports for the Women in Sports Foundation, hosted by ESPN analyst and Olympic gold medalist Jessica Mendoza.

Previously, as the head of MLB Video at Yahoo Sports, he acted as supervising producer on all baseball programming including The Bandwagon (w/ Hannah Keyser), Old Baseball Cards (w/ Mike Oz) and Power Rankings (w/ Tim Brown).

He also served as head writer and producer of The Rush, Yahoo Sports’ flagship daily show. There he became comfortable speaking to, and conducting interviews with premium talent like Drew Brees, Kobe Bryant, Michael B. Jordan, Odell Beckham Jr., Barry Sanders, Tony Hawk, Fernando Tatis Jr. and countless others. He also gained experience as field producer for coverage of Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta (2018), the World Series in Los Angeles (2017, 2018), MLB Spring Training in Arizona (2018, 2019) and Mayweather v McGregor in Las Vegas (2017).

Before pivoting to video production, Julien spent many years as a playwright. His one-act comedy, roger&tom is published and now available at Playscripts.org after critically acclaimed runs in New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Boston, San Francisco, Scotland and Estonia. Other produced works include Beautiful Morning, Nicotine and the short piece, Stats, which premiered in NYC as part of Myth America (featuring new works by Teresa Rebek and Arthur Kopit)

On film, Julien has been a contributing screenwriter on many projects, including the short Across the Hall (starring Adrian Grenier), the subsequent feature Across The Hall (starring Brittany Murphy), and the short Bulldog (where he also served as executive producer).

In addition, he is the creator and host of the comedic podcast Advice From Grown-Ups where he’s been fortunate enough to improvise with Groundlings alumni such as Fortune Feemster and Mitch Slipa. Look for season 3 to drop in summer of 2022.

Julien lives in Highland Park, Los Angeles with his son, wife, rescue dog, and a tranche of as-yet-unproduced screenplays and television pilots that he adds to whenever possible.
